How I can support you during your labor…

Comfort Measures: Throughout labor, I offer a variety of comfort measures including hot/cold, counter pressure, massage, and position change.
Positioning: As a doula, I understand the importance of movement in labor. I help remind you and facilitate strategic position changes throughout labor to keep baby moving and help mom rest. I help you get into the new position and regain your rhythm throughout labor.
Advocacy: I help you prepare for possible situations you may face in the birth room and we strategize on how to best help you and your partner advocate for yourselves.
Emotional Encouragement & Support: I support your decisions, no matter how or where you choose to give birth. I support you if you choose medication, c-section, induction, or natural birth.
Partner Support: I understand your partner is likely your primary support person. Doulas do not replace your partner during your labor and birth. My job, as a doula, is to support you during labor, support your partner and help your partner support you.
Educational Support: Often times during labor, medical staff do not have time to explain everything that is happening in a thorough way. I can help bridge that gap by explaining, with a calm presence, what is happening.
After Birth Support: After you have given birth, I stay with you until you are ready for private time with your baby/family. I will be there to remind you of any plans you wanted to take place and help you facilitate bonding and feeding with your baby.
