NWA Postpartum Doula

Postpartum Doula Services

Better beginnings and a smoother recovery!

How Postpartum Doula Care Works

1 – Postpartum Doula Prenatal Meeting (when you book during pregnancy)

We begin with a prenatal meeting at your home, where we create a comprehensive postpartum plan. We will cover a variety of topics including feeding your baby, breastfeeding, meals, and mom’s recovery. I provide evidence-based educational information and resources about infant sleep, safe sleep, nutrition, as well as a variety of other topics. Together we’ll create a postpartum plan based on your choices that works best for you and your family. We will also discuss how you feel I can best support you once baby arrives.

2 – Postpartum Doula Visits

After baby arrives, I come to your home to help you with the tasks we discussed during our initial meeting, and help you make the transition with your new baby a smooth one. I offer flexible packages outlined at the bottom of this page, whether you book in advance or have recently had a baby and need postpartum support now.

How I Can Support You…

Bubble Time

Do you need a little time to yourself? Do you want to take a relaxing bath or shower? Do you want to take a short nap? I can watch baby while you get refreshed.

Mom’s Recovery

We can discuss the changes and challenges you may face during recovery, and I help you understand what is common and to be expected.

Light Housework

I make the day’s to-do list lighter by taking care of tasks like laundry, light cleaning, organizing, bottle cleaning, dishes, etc.

Baby Sleep/Parent Sleep

We will discuss safe-infant sleep and normal infant sleep. We will strategize ways for each parent to get more sleep.

Meal Planning/Prep

I am an experienced cook! I can prepare snacks and lunch of your choice with ingredients you provide. I can also cook dinner ahead of time or prep for dinner with recipes of your choice, or you can choose from pre-planned meals I offer (you just provide the ingredients).

Breastfeeding Support

I can help you with breastfeeding by providing educational information, assistance with positioning, and offering guidance regarding if baby is getting enough milk, along with general troubleshooting tips. I encourage you to take my free breastfeeding class to best prepare yourself for the journey ahead.

Formula Feeding

If you’ve decided to feed your baby formula, I support you in your choice. I can assist you in making bottles, sterilizing bottles/formula, and proper feeding techniques.

Emotional Support

Many mothers feel an emotional benefit from sharing their birth experience. I am here to truly listen to your birth story in a nonjudgmental way and help you process your experience. I am here to support you.

Special Event Help

Babies can arrive when other special events are coming up, such as another child’s birthday, anniversary, or holiday. If you need help with an upcoming event, I am happy to help with baking, decorating, planning, wrapping presents, etc.

What I don’t Provide

As a postpartum doula, my primary focus is on mom and helping you integrate baby into your lives as smoothly as possible. The role of a postpartum doula is not the same as a nanny, housekeeper, newborn specialist, night nurse or babysitter. I don’t offer nanny or babysitting services, provide medical checkups for mom or baby, or offer deep cleaning / full house cleaning services.

Pricing & Packages

I encourage you to plan ahead and reserve a doula package during your pregnancy, so we can have an in-depth meeting to make a postpartum plan before baby arrives. During this meeting we discuss a variety of topics including: feeding your baby, parent responsibilities, safe baby sleep, sleeping schedules for parents, mom’s recovery & mental health, roles & expectations for parents, and visitors & boundaries.

If you have recently give birth and now decided you would like a postpartum doula, the same pricing applies, but we will not have a separate postpartum planning meeting.

If these plans don’t work for you, please contact me to discuss your special needs.
